If you don’t mind I’d like to give my thoughts and opinion of today’s XBOX press conference.

1. The Name

XBOX ONE. Personally I don’t care for it. I was more behind 720 than I am this chosen name, and I hated the 720 moniker. I understand exactly why they chose the name, I just think they could have thought of a better one(no pun intended…fuck it pun intended). It’s like Harley Morenstein said:

Well said, Sir.

2. Size

Jesus Christ! Did you see the size of that thing? It’s rather large for a console. I guess that’s Microsoft’s gimmick though, bigger is better?

3.Social Media

Look if I buy a GAMING console that’s what I expect the developers main focus is to be on when trying to sell me on said product, not whether I can Skype while I’m watching something or check on my fantasy sports team or update my twitter. I can Skype, watch video, check sports etc etc on my Mac Book Pro, why would I need or want that on a GAMING console? Short answer: I dont need or want any of it, I just want to be able to play a damn game on it.

4. Instant Switching

I’m sorry but I highly doubt switching between things is going to be that fast or easy. I mean look at when they debuted the Kinect or Project Natal(way better name). It looked and seemed amazing in the demos at E3 but then they released it and it was such a let down. Project Natal promised things Kinect could not deliver. Like hold a conversation, detecting certain movements, scan things into games, and learn your name just to list a few. See why I’m skeptical?

5. Quantum Break

This game is very intriguing. It’s something fresh and new. I was sucked in by the trailer wanting to know more. Integrating a game into a TV show where the decisions you make in the game affect what you see on the show. That’s pretty epic if you ask me. I can’t wait to see more on this.

6. Halo TV Series

I was expecting something Halo related but not this. We all knew Halo 5 was going to be next gen so I thought they would tell us a bit about the next installment and maybe a little footage. Nope, they announce Halo the TV series. First reaction to the show announcement:

Then they said Steven Spielberg was involved 

Yeah, I’m pretty excited for this now.

7. Too much focus on sports.

Sorry guys, I hate sports so when they kept going on and on about their partnership with NFL and showing what sports games will look like it just took me right out of the conference. I’m sure there is a lot of you out there shitting the bed over that stuff but its not for me. I feel too much time was focused on sports instead of actual games or on these 15 exclusives they talked about.

8. Call of Duty: Ghosts

I’m not going to lie I never got into C.O.D. The only time I ever played it is multiplayer with a few friends and I just couldn’t enjoy it really. But this game looks gorgeous and made me care about C.O.D. I really want to play this game. It looks fun and the storyline seems very solid. 

All in all it wasn’t a bad introduction to XBOX UNO(I like that name better, let’s go with that). The graphics looks fantastic and they have a lot of great ideas on the horizon. But we will have to see how those ideas will be executed at launch. And I know they didn’t discuss many games because E3 is 19 days away and they are saving the big guns for that but they could have gave us a little more.

Burn Notice is ending this summer. Dexter is also ending this summer. The Office ended tonight. Sons of Anarchy is ending next year. How I Met Your Mother will end next season as well. What shows will be the next to end? Too many fucking shows I watch are going away. In the words of Chucky Marstein I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS!!!
